Questions
Questions about counseling
Do you take my insurance?
Marrow is in network with some plans and out of network with others. Hanan tells you which before your first session. Marrow does not bill Medicare or Medicaid.
What is a superbill and how do I use it?
A superbill is an itemized monthly receipt you can send to your plan to ask for reimbursement. It carries a diagnosis code, which your plan sees. Your plan decides what it pays.
What is a Good Faith Estimate?
If you pay without insurance, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of what your care will cost before you start. If a bill comes out $400 or more above the estimate, you can dispute it. The estimate is not a contract.
How much does it cost, and how do fees work?
Your fee depends on the session and is given to you in writing before the first session. A limited number of reduced-fee spots are open. See how fees work.
Can I use an HSA or FSA card?
Yes. Your plan's own rules decide what it covers, so check with it first if you are not sure.
What happens in the first session?
The first session is 60 minutes. Hanan explains how she works and the limits of confidentiality, and you say what matters.
How often and how long?
A regular session is 50 minutes. Most people meet weekly or every other week, and Hanan sets the pace with you.
Are you licensed where I live?
Hanan is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Michigan. She can see you by video only if you are in Michigan when we meet.
Can we plan sessions around my prayers?
Yes. Tell us your prayer times when you write, and appointments are set around them.
What do I do in a crisis?
Call or text 988, any time, or call 911 in an emergency. Marrow does not monitor messages around the clock.
What is confidential and what are the limits?
What you say is confidential, with limits the law sets, such as a risk of serious harm to you or someone else, or a report the law requires. Hanan explains these in the first session.
Can you see my teen, and how does consent work?
No. Marrow sees adults only. If you are looking for a clinician for a teen, Hanan can point you to places that do.
What is your cancellation policy?
Please give 24 hours' notice to cancel or move a session. Hanan will talk through any late cancellation with you before there is a charge.
Still have a question?
Write to Hanan and she will reply on a weekday.
